A Siberian heirloom from Khabarovsk, brought to North America by Alaskan grower Bob Ellis. Big purple-streaked bulbs with 6–8 large cloves.
Flavor: Hot and pungent raw, sweet and creamy roasted.
Growing: Reliable, high-yielding, and well suited to Willamette Valley winters. Plant October–November for a July harvest, with scapes as a spring bonus.
Storage: Keeps 6+ months in a cool, dry, dark spot. Don’t refrigerate.
